Job Details\nEntry Main Location - Augusta, GA Full TimeDescription\nJOB SUMMARY\nThe purpose of this Job Description is to establish and define the authority, accountability, reporting relationships, responsibilities, duties, and measures of performance of a Driver. The basic function of a Driver is to ensure the proper loading and unloading of tucks during pick up and delivery, the accurate and p\n...\nroductive loading and unloading of trucks, the security of the truck and its contents, adherence to safety policies, provide excellent customer service and maintain a safe driving record.\nREPORTING RELATIONSHIPS\nThe Driver reports to, and is accountable to either the Dispatcher or Assistant Dispatcher and the Chief Operations Officer.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nThe Driver is selected and appointed by the Dispatcher after consultation with the Chief Operations Officer. He/She will be delegated the authority required to successfully accomplish all of the duties and responsibilities of this position.\n\u2022 Authority to organize and coordinate work assignments. Analyzes problems and recommend corrective actions to the proper level of management to improve quality, productivity, safety and housekeeping.\n\u2022 Adheres to the Company\u2019s safety policies.\n\u2022 Maintains a safe working environment.\n\u2022 Provides superior customer service.\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nMaking it understood that THE CUSTOMER IS OUR FIRST PRIORITY and that each employee is here to support that priority.\n\u2022 Ensure that his/her routes and returns have been properly loaded and unloaded.\n\u2022 Ensure that items have been accurately reconciled upon receipt.\n\u2022 Ensure that all outgoing merchandise is properly inspected and recorded on the proper forms.\n\u2022 Prior to 7:30 am each day, the driver must report to the Dispatcher by telephone, even if not on duty. The Driver must also notify the Dispatcher prior to leaving a job assignment to obtain directions for the next job assignment.\n\u2022 Submits required reports, such as DOT logs, as required, in a timely manner.\n\u2022 Adding money to the COMDATA card requires the Driver to telephone into the office and request funds prior to 5:00 pm. There will be NO FUNDS available after 5:00 pm unless there is an emergency.\n\u2022 The Driver is the Crew Leader / Supervisor when at the customer site and is responsible to ensure that all tasks are properly completed. The Driver is responsible for the actions and safety of the crew.\n\u2022 Must notify the customer, warehouse and Dispatcher a minimum of 24 hours in advance of the actual delivery day.\n\u2022 Arrives at customer\u2019s residence at precisely 8:00 AM.\n\u2022 In case of accident or injury follows proper procedures.\n\u2022 Maintains a positive attitude and works well with the customer, delivery crews and members of management.\n\u2022 Throughout the move process ensures the all loading and padding is properly completed.\n\u2022 Ensures that the customer residence is secure, protected and clean throughout the move process.\n\u2022 Ensures that prior to departing for the customer\u2019s location, the crew has all required padding, tools, equipment and paperwork.\n\u2022 Brings lunch to job site and understands he/she may have to eat at the job site (company will provide ice).\n\u2022 Physically inventories and tags each item as required.\n\u2022 Must be flexible and understand that sometimes changes will be made by the customer to the schedule.\n\u2022 Understands that in this role he/she is visible to the public and is viewed as a representative of the company and therefore must act accordingly by wearing a proper, clean and neat uniform, maintaining good personal grooming standards and conducting him/herself in a professional manner.\n\u2022 Dresses in an approved uniform and appropriate manner as specified in the employee manual. Is presentable at all times.\n\u2022 Creating and maintaining a work environment that shows concern for the other personnel assigned to the area.\n\u2022 Assist in attaining the goals and objectivities of the Company.\n\u2022 Data Storage drivers must adhere to the pickup and delivery schedule, be on time, be professional, complete required paperwork, and drive safely and courteously. Must be flexible to changes in schedules.\n\u2022 Data Storage drivers completing destruction routes must ensure that he/she has the correct destruction bin, adheres to schedule, is on time, is professional, completes required paperwork, and drives safely and courteously. Must be flexible to changes in schedules.\n\u2022 Other duties and task as assigned by the Dispatcher, Assistant Dispatcher, and Chief Operations Officer, or Chief Executive Officer.\nMEASURES OF PERFORMANCE\nThe Driver shall be deemed to be performing in an acceptable manner when the following have been accomplished:\n\u2022 That the all routes/work assignments have been operating in a safe, clean and productive manner.\n\u2022 That he/she has been properly trained and cross trained in all pickup, loading, padding, inventory, safety and customer service procedures.\n\u2022 Follows the instructions/requests of the ADSI Dispatcher, or Assistant Dispatcher.\n\u2022 Must maintain a safe driving record.\n\u2022 Must meet all driver qualification standards.\n\u2022 Completion of the Quality Labor Van Operator training course and the required refresher courses as offered by the company.\n\u2022 Meets and/or exceeds company attendance requirements.\n\u2022 Meets and/or exceed the Company\u2019s goals and objectives in quality and productivity.\n\u2022 Works to ensure that all pick ups and deliveries meet or exceed established deadlines.\n\u2022 Maintains an outstanding degree of cooperation, communication and coordination with and between all departments and companies at the facility.\n\u2022 Constantly Striving For Total Customer Satisfaction.\n\u2022 All Company Policies and Procedures have been adhered too.\nQualifications\nJOB REQUIREMENTS\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to complete all areas outlined for this position in a satisfactory manner. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.\nEDUCATION\nRequired: High School diploma.\nLICENSING/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION\nRequired: Valid Driver\u2019s License.\nRequired: Commercial Drivers License for vehicles over 26,000 pounds.\nEXPERIENCE\nRequired: Two (2) to Five (5) years or more driving experience in the house hold goods, document storage and/or home delivery industry.\nPreferred: Ability to calculate list of numbers, logically work through problems, work independently, legibly record lists of materials and make appropriate decisions. Specific, hands on knowledge and experience in the household goods moving and storage, data storage or home delivery industry.\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.\nBODY POSITIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, operate forklifts and scissor lifts and load/unload trucks for prolonged periods of time.\nBODY MOVEMENTS: The employee must have a full range of body movements including use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, computer equipment and peripherals; and bending, reaching, and crouching.\nBODY SENSES: Must have command of all five senses: sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Vision requirements in each area must be sufficient to shift in focus from computer screens to printed documents.\nSTRENGTH: Must have the ability to lift seventy five (75) pounds with regularity\nWORKING CONDITIONS\nThis position will be working primarily indoors with some outdoors work required from time to time. The normal auto travel hazards may apply. Travel maybe in all types of weather including heavy rain and below freezing temperatures with snow conditions possible.\nThe noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but can be higher at times.
